ANOTHER DAY

I was standing at the bar at Revello’s when I saw you
But you didn’t even notice
I was hooked on the barbs of your obvious perfection from the start
But my glance had no effect
Because you trawled through the room with a sense of contrived elimination
But I didn’t fit the picture of the faultless

Shining image of attraction that a man should be

I can wait for another day, I can wait for another day (before you call me)
I can wait for another day, before you wander into my life

I was immersed in a deeply academic conversation
When I sensed you on my shoulder
In your scarlet dress with your porcelain complexion and I knew
And the discotheque was booming
So I turned just enough to engage your attention in the mirror
But your face had no reflection
So I sank my tequila and I realised that maybe it was time to go

I can wait for another day, I can wait for another day (before you call me)
I can wait for another day, before you wander into my life

Get those teeth away from me ‘cos there ain’t no way on Earth
I’m gonna be travelling homeward with you on my arms tonight

I can wait for another day, I can wait for another day (before you call me)
I can wait for another day, before you wander into my life
